Please note all Book Festival schools events take place at our site at Edinburgh Futures Institute at 1 Lauriston Place in central Edinburgh, EH3 9EF.
The designated bus drop-off for groups attending the Book Festival’s Schools Programme is at Lauriston Place, opposite George Heriots School. From here you can enter the site at via Middle Meadow Walk or the venues directly from the first floor entrance at the Café.
A member of our Front of House team will be available to assist you.
For schools attending Sarah Crossan’s Authors Live event at McEwan Hall, please use the signed side entrance on Teviot Place.
You can pull in on either side of the street to drop off pupils and they will be helped to cross the street, if needed, by a crossing guard. There is also traffic lights and a road crossing opposite George Heriots School.
Level and ramp access to our site is accessible from this point, but if you would like to arrange drop-off for children with specific access needs please contact us on schools@edbookfest.co.uk.
As of 1 June, the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) is in place in Edinburgh city centre and may affect travel. Further details can be found on Edinburgh City Council’s website: https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/low-emission-zone.
Any buses that stop at any other point other than the designated drop-off point will be asked to move to the correct point. Your cooperation is appreciated and will ensure the safety of school groups visiting the Book Festival site.
